Jawahar Lal Nehru University (JNU) - Jawaharlal Nehru University (http://jnu.ac.in ) is located in New Delhi, is among the premier universities in India in the field of Liberal arts, Languages, Political Science and Economics. The JNU campus is a microcosm of the Indian nation, drawing students from every nook and corner of the country and from every group and stratum of society. To make sure that this is so, annual admission tests are simultaneously held at 37 centres spread across the length and breadth of the country, and special care is taken to draw students from the underprivileged castes and ethic groups by reserving 22.5 per cent of seats for them. Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) - Indira Gandhi National Open University (http://ignou.ac.in) was established in 1985 to provide distance learning to remote and disadvantaged students of any age. It helps in democratization of education in India. IGNOU offers certificate, diploma, graduate, post-graduate and PhD distance education courses.It has regional centres all over India, including Indian air-force, army and navy recognized centres. Its courses are also available in 26 countries.
